As you probably know, we recently made the difficult decision to retire and close Carriage Jewelry.

We were both appreciative and humbled by the outpouring of thanks and best wishes from so many of our friends and loyal customers. We were concerned with how to respond to the many inquiries of: Who can I go to now? Who can I trust? Who will take care of my precious items now? We have been slow to respond because we knew any referral we made would have to be someone with absolute integrity and complete professionalism. We have always considered each of our customers as part of our extended family, each person and family are important and special to us. Each of you deserve somone who will give you the same personal attention and care that you deserve.

After much thought and discussion, I am happy to announce that Darrel & Kathy Conner and staff from Stockdale Jewelers have agreed to become our referral jewelers.

Stockdale Jewelers will be offering quality jewelry repair, custom design, add-a-pearls, and watch repair out of their location at 5466 California Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309. Telephone 661-322-5951. A full line of fine diamond and gemstone jewelry will also be featured.

Saturday, October 3rd, was our second annual Jazz & Jewelz. A fundraiser for the Links for Life foundation. We had a great turnout and that made for a wonderful night. Cafe' Med catered the event and the food was incredible! There was also a jazz band that provided the atmosphere of the evening. There were many donations from many different sponsors and lots of happy winners! We are so grateful to have been a part of this wonderful organization to help raise money to for breast cancer. Thanks to all who helped and participated in this fabulous event!

Our Dear Friend

After more than 50 years of jewelry, Henry "Hank" Leal, formerly of Leal's Jewelers, has decided to retire. Hank started Leal's Jewelers in the 1950's in Delano, CA. In 1974, he hired Darrel Conner as his manager in the Bakersfield, CA store. In 1990, Hank dissolved his business in Delano and came to the Bakersfield store, Stockdale Jewelers, to help Darrel out. At that time, Hank told Darrel he would stick around for a little while while Darrel got his business going. It's almost 20 years later, and Hank has now moved on to retirement. We will surely miss him and are thankful to call him friend.
